Six Degrees of Separation and Total Relationship Marketing

Six degrees of separation” is the idea that any two people in the world are connected through a chain of no more than six social links. Example: You know a friend. That friend knows a coworker. That coworker knows a cousin. That cousin knows a professor. That professor knows a journalist. That journalist knows the person you were trying to reach. So you are about six connections away.

What it means: The world is socially smaller than it looks. People are linked through networks of friends, family, work, school, and communities. Information, opportunities, and influence can travel surprisingly fast through those networks.
Where the idea comes from: It became popular from social-network theory and small-world experiments, especially research suggesting that people in large populations are connected by short chains.

Why it matters: Networking: one introduction can lead to another. Business: referrals often move through a few trusted relationships. Social media: platforms make these hidden connections easier to see. Culture: it helps explain ideas like “everyone knows someone who knows someone.” It is not a strict law. It is more of a way to describe how tightly connected human networks often are. In TRM terms, it supports the idea that relationships compound: the right connection today can open doors to many others tomorrow. The Total Relationship Methodology turns theory into reality and 6 degrees into 1.

Two Key Roles in TRM

Our system is designed around two but distinct but interconnected roles:

1 – LINK: Business owners, executives and sales professionals who are actively seeking growth, clients, and meaningful opportunities. All LINKS are encouraged to develop LINK relationships with other LINKS to share IDEAS, INFORMATION, RESOURCES and INTRODUCTIONS. LINKS attend events to locate others to develop symbiotic relationships and then invite the to a LINK LUNCH to begin the relationship. When a LINK suggests another member who becomes a LINK, the  member receive a FINANCIAL REWARD or BONUS. When a LINKS are encouraged to build a Target market NETWORK to increase productivity within that market.  When a LINK receives a successful referral, the LINK makes a new sale and pays a FINANCIAL REWARD to the referring LINK. 300 referrals received is anticipated to result in 100 sales this year, 100 next year, and 100 never.

2 – EXECUTIVE LINK: After demonstrating competency, a LINK can elect to build a NETWORK of LINKS without regard to occupation or exclusivity; or LINKS who share the same target market, enjoy exclusivity, but do not compete with each other. The EXECUTIVE LINK is responsible for LINK ON-BOARDING and coaching during the ADMISSION TICKET process, becomes a TRM partner and receives a revenue share creating residual income and an equity position.

When a LINK builds a Target Market and personally recruits 10 or more LINK members, they are eligible to upgrade their membership to EXECUTIVE LINK and share in TRM revenue becoming a TRM Limited Partner.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS

 
 
 

1 – VIP – a business owner, executive, or sales professional who is interested in developing new business relationships and improving performance. VIP membership is subject to performance and participation as a contributing member at the sole discretion of TRM. A VIP is invited to join by a LINK member and downloads the TRM electronic business card and registers to connect with TRM. A VIP member can elect to participate in the LINK ON BOARDING process..

  • VIPS are complimentary when connecting with TRM
  • VIPS receive 20% DISCOUNT on strategic coaching fees
  • VIPS receive special offers from LINK members on products and services  via SMS
  • VIPS can join the TRM membership to the CENTRE Club and save 90% of Initiation fees and up to 25% of membership dues.
  • VIPS can UPGRADE to LINK membership and implement the TRM METHODOLOGY.

2 –  LINK – a VIP member who has registered as a LINK memberto participate in the TOTAL RELATIONSHIP MARKETING methodology. A LINK must be invited to JOIN by another LINK. to shares IDEAS, INFORMATION, RESOURCES, REFERRALS and INTRODUCTIONS . When a LINK introduces a VIP who ultimately joins as a LINK, they receives a $400 LINK BONUS. 

LINKS implement the TRM methodology. When a LINK makes a referral which is successful, that LINK receives a FINANCIAL REWARD which is paid by the LINK receiving the REFERRAL. All LINKS agree to provide FINANCIAL REWARDS for DUCCESSFUL REFERRALS unless they are prohibited law or company policy and design their own FINANCIAL REWARD which is posted in advance and typically is 10% of new revenue resulting from the new completed business  The financial reward is a way of saying thank you and encourages more referrals keeping the process FRONT OF MIND.  LINK membership fees will change over time, but are grandfathered from the date of joining, however should a member cease membership and later rejoin, current fees will apply.

  • LINKS receive a custom Business Development Plan (BDP)
  • LINKS receive a new member LINK BONUS when recommending a new LINK member which is successful
  • LINKS can invite non-members and gift an unlimited number of FREE VIP memberships
  • LINKS can qualfy to become EXECUTIVE LINKS and TRM Limited Partners
 
 
 
3 – EXECUTIVE LINK a LINK member who has demonstrated the necessary skills, can elect to become an EXECUTIVE LINK and if approved, build a network of LINK members .The NETWORK can be either a 6 or 1 DEGREE type. An EXECUTIVE LINK is a Limited Partner relationship and shares in TRM revenue created by the NETWORK. The revenue is recurring based upon certain factors and creates an equity position. The EXECUTIVE LINK is responsible for all network operations, expenses and receives compensation from NETWORK based upon performance. The EXECUTIVE LINK is responsible for the GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT of the network and monitors and measures the ADMISSION TICKET. The EXECUTIVE LINK pays a Limited Partner FEE which is paid in addition to the LINK fee, and is in business for themself, but not by themselves. 4 – LINK REP – a LINK can elect to become a LINK REP whose primary responsibility is to represent TRM as a 1099 employee. The LINK REP is focused on recruiting new members, and may qualify to become and EXECUTIVE LINK. The LINK REP receives a $400 BONUS when a recommendation results in a new LINK Member and could associate with other EXECUTIVE  LINKS to provide support services.. 

5 – LINK COACH – a LINK who is a professional coach and provides coaching services to members at a 20% discount and receives a 20% LINK membership discount.  A LINK COACH may be invited to participate in the LINK ON BOARDING process to demonstrate their coaching focus and develop new opportunities.

 
 
 

LINK MEMBERS ARE ORGANIZED BY NETWORK

 
 
  1. FLAGSHIP – when a new LINK member joins TRM they participate in the ON BOARDING process and is a member of the FLAGSHIP NETWORK unless having been enrolled by a SIX DEGREES NETWORK.
  2. SIX DEGREESa LINK can build a network of LINKS from competing members and industries and if qualified. become an EXECUTIVE LINK.
  3. ONE DEGREE – a LINK can build a NETWORK of LINKS who do not compete to share IDEAS, INFORMATION, RESOURCES, REFERRALS and INTRODUCTIOND. And, if qualified, become and RXECUTIVE LINK.
